Dresses for everyone

I had forgotten how cute little baby clothes can be. After making those two newborn size dresses, I’ve wanted to sew more and more tiny cute dresses out of different retro fabrics. This pattern is great for babies, since it grows with the kid.  After the dress gets too short, you can wear it as a tunic with trousers. They are just too adorable to resist. So, here’s something for everyone.

This used to be a vintage apron. Now it is a green apple dress for a little autumn girl.

Adorable pale blue dress out of retro pillow cover with white lining that gives that little girlie touch to it.

A colourful dress out of retro pillow cover. One of my favourite fabrics, that I had just enough to make this dress.

NOTE!! They are now all available in p.s.shop.

Red red retro bunnies

As I mentioned before, thıs bunny fabric from the 70s is my all time favourite retro fabric. When ever I find a piece of it in a fleemarket, it always makes me equally happy. Recently, I got a hold of a pair of curtains and a large duvet cover of the red version of the fabric. (Thank you auntie) ;) So, naturally I had to transform some of those treasures into cute baby clothes..

This small dress is made for a small babygirl, who was born three minutes before my birthday. Congrats little one, hope you come to love these bunnies as much as I do.

I found a small pillow case from a flee market some time ago. It had a row of green and purple elephants and flowers and it was like made for a small dress. So, when I started to design a present for a small newborn baby girl, I remembered those elephants.

How cute and small a dress it turned out to be!

ElephantDress

The dress is size 56cm and it closes with a pair of press buttons.

Cup carriers

This is the coolest invention ever for all take away coffee drinkers. It is a fabric cup carrier, in which you easily carry that hot take away cup of coffee (or tea for that matter) while having hands full of everything else. You can carry it like a bag or just hold on the cup without burning your fingers. The strap closes with a press button, so it is possible to hang the carrier on baby trolley while going for a walk with your kids. Clever, indeed!

I am hooked! Once you start printing those cool little retro prints on fabric, you can’t stop. It is great to be able to make your own prints in fabric. Time consuming it is, but definitely worth it! Here are some more prints that I have done on baby shirts.

I like bunnies, I mean who doesnt’t like bunnies? So, bunnies it is then. These bunnies come with a bit of rock attitude. Rock Rock!!  The little giraffes however, are more funky than rock…Which one do you like better? I just can’t decide.

Today I have been working with a bunch of cup carriers in cool retro colours.  I will give you some tastings very soon.. So stay tuned!

T-shirts a’la retro

I have closets full of clothes that I don’t use anymore. Some too small, some just  not my style anymore. Some of my old t-shirts I have managed to reuse by making small shirts and onesies for my son. To make dull plain shirts a bit more exciting for the little ones, I have hand printed cute retro animals etc. on them.

This plain white t-shirt in soft bambu fabric became onesie with brown elephants and yellow suns. Rrrrretro.

Summery thoughts

Even though the autumn has inevitably arrived, we can still think summery thoughts: Sunshine, warm wind, flowers and green leaves, hedgehogs and quacking ducks..

This cute duck fabric used to be a duvet cover and the green flowery lining is from a vintage curtain. It is a comfortable tunic dress with couple of press buttons at the back. Easy to dress up to those fast moving toddlers..

Note!! Coming up some t-shirt make-overs with some cool retro giraffes and elephants.. ;)

p.s. it’s recycled

Party on!

We were invited to 1 year birthday party last weekend. So, naturally one has to dress up for the occasion. I ended up making a cute party-shirt for my son out of Mickey and Minnie printed velor. It used to be a bit bigger shirt with worn out hemlines and collar, but it had just enough fabric to make size 86 cm shirt for the little toddler. Party on!
