Owl with a pocket

Ok, there is no denying it. Winter has arrived. It is stormy outside and early this week, we had our first snow. So, I figured, it’s time to sew something warm for the chilly Winter days. My son needed a warm sweater for the daycare. So, I made this one of thick jersey knit and orange velor. I appliqued a retro owl in front, with little legs hanging loose. The owl is also a pocket, where he can keep his little treasures. Nice and comfy indeed.. isn’t it?

More overalls..

If last week was dress week for me, this week has been overalls week for me. I got a hold of this pattern for overalls from the 70s and of course I had to try it out. My first experiment was with dark blue vintage fabric with big butterflies and ladybirds and other kinds of bugs. It used to be a curtain and is made of strong thick cotton. The overalls are closed with few press buttons on the shoulder.

These retrobugs also flew to p.s.shop..

Overalls are IN!

I think one of my favourite piece of clothing for kids is overalls. It is so handy to wear for daycare or for outings. It’s warm because it  keeps the shirt tucked in then again not too warm. You can never have too many pairs of overalls. Besides, how cute do the little ones look in overalls!

These overalls are made of old blue corduroy jacket with lining and pockets of retro cotton from an old pillowcase. They are made with 70′s pattern, with few changes of my own.  There is elastic at the back to make the diaper fit a bit better. My favourite, definitely!

p.s. These overalls you can find in p.s.shop!!

Remember those handy cup carriers I blogged about earlier. A stock of them was sent to North and now you can buy them also in Sivertsens Kafe in Tromsø, Northern Norway. So if you are stopping by in Tromsø, go and check out the cafe!

The winter totally surprised me and gave me a nasty cold that I have been fighting off last few days. Fortunately it is passing me now and I have managed to get back in business.

I found this amazing fabric tucked in amongst the piles and piles of fabrics in my closet. It was screaming to be transformed into cute baby pants. And since I also found very nicely matching rib from my stocks, I had no excuse.

I added extra space to the bum, as it is good to have plenty of space for diaper. Especially if you are using cloth diapers, the standard pants often get too tight around the bum. The rib on the waist and hems makes them easy to dress and comfy to wear.

They are size 68 cm and 80cm and are both for sale in the p.s.shop.

p.s. Some cute small elephants have also found their way to the p.s.shop. Go and check them out..
