Giveaway!

Look who is hiding in the hat…well isn’t it a cute little bunny lady and a small hedgehog? These two friends decided to make home to two hats that I made today. They are both made of orange velor and the lining in the bunny hat is orange knit and brown jersey in the hedgehog hat.

I was originally making them for my son, but he has grown so much since last winter, that they became a bit tight. I think they are perfect size for a one year old. Oops! I can’t seem to remember that my little baby boy is almost two years old already ;)

Well, that just gives me the opportunity to give these cute hats to someone else. And since I am also very curious to find out who are the people visiting my blog, I decided to do a small GIVEAWAY! So, just leave a comment to this post and tell which one of the hats you like the best. I will give both of the hats away, so two of you will win!  The winner will be announced 1.12.2009 – Good luck!

Hedgehog hoodie no. 2

I totally fell for the hedgehog hoodie I made before and just had to sew one for my son as well. In this one I ended up using the good old combination of brown and yellow since he has so many clothes in those colours already. The yellow knit is from an old sweater of mine and the lining is brown jersey. Hedgehog I cut from leftover brown velor and appliqued in front. The button is from some old outfit I have reused before. I like.

A friend asked me to sew a set for her one year old son for the Christmas. She wanted blue velor trousers with orange pockets and a matching shirt for that. So, I made a orange hoodie with a little hedgehog in front. The hood is lined with stripy jersey. I think the outfit turned out really cute. The colours are just amazing together, I think I have to make something similar for my son. Cute cute!

I also made a small HugBuddy pillow for the little boy. He was so cute the other day hugging my son’s Huggables. I felt he definitely should have one for himself. :)

Friends of ours got a daughter few weeks ago and we went to see their little girl today. Oh my, she is so cute and small and absolutely adorable. She made me want to have a baby again. Well, maybe few years from now.. ;)

I made a small dress for the little one with a matching bib. The dress is made of retro curtain and the the bib is yellow jersey in front and vintage duvet cover at the back. Since she is their first baby and a true baby number one, I appliqued number 1 in the bib with matching colours. Cute set for a cute girl.

It seems I am not the only one liking the bunny fabric. Lot of people are asking about the bunny dresses. So, here are some more of them in bit bigger sizes 80 / 86cm. The green bunny fabric is running out fast, so this will be the last green bunny dress for a while. Some small stuff will come later on. So, if you want one, be quick and visit p.s.shop!

Retro Baby

I got my son a small doll from a flee market some time ago. We are starting to potty train him and I figured it might help to have a friend in the task. So, I found this cute little doll with a small potty and I thought it was perfect for him. Onni has been taking care of her very well. They sit on the potty together and then he tucks her in the bed and gives her kiss for goodnight. He calls her “Baby”. Totally adorable!

The doll was however without any clothes, so I made a small hoodie and wide hem trousers for her out of Onni’s old retro onesie. A cute little hat was easy to sew together from one leg of Onni’s used stockings. She also got a small dress with a heart appliqued in front. I got all excited making these tiny clothes. I think my son will get few more dolls to play with. ;)

I also finished one little dress. I have gotten lot of requests to make more bunny dresses so here is one small one in size 62 cm.

These bunnies have jumped to the p.s.shop.

Messy trousers

This weekend I have been finishing unfinished stuff. I had a huge pile of sewings that had not been finished. Now, I decided to clear that pile and see what comes out of it. Lot of things, I tell you. Mostly Christmas presents but also few things that can be shown here before the holidays.

My son goes through the messy phase these days and needs more than few pairs of trousers in a day. So, I had few trousers cut and ready, from which some were already too small for him and ended up as Christmas presents for younger kids. These though were a perfect fit. Orange velor trousers with wide hems and knee pads out of petrol coloured recycled knit. He wore them immediately after I got them ready and before I got to take a picture they had stains in them already. Like I said, going through a messy phase. (I wonder when or if it ever ends…) ;)

Wroom number two

I got a bit sidetracked with Wroom shirt as I was supposed to make some trousers for the little guy. Well, I decided to make it an outfit and made these blue velor trousers to match the car inspired shirt. The trousers have elastics on the waist and ribs on the legs to give some extra length. Two cars from the same old retro sheet are driving up and down the leg. Wrooom Wroom, this is number two. Will there be number three?

p.s. I am just bursting to show you all the things I have sewn these last few weeks, but since they are Christmas presents, I have to wait until the holidays are over. Ohh, it is going to be a long November and December…

Wroom Wroom..

I found an old children’s sheet full of colourful cars and I was inspired to sew a Wroom shirt. This one is for a little car enthusiast boy, who knows already more about cars and trucks that I ever will. He sure is a clever boy!

The shirt is green jersey and the cars are cut from the sheet and appliqued on top. I also used the sheet for the hood to give some colour. Definitely wroooom a shirt!
