My son got an annoying case of eye infection, so we are hanging out home together planning some cute Huggables. He is my best adviser when it comes to Huggables. I draw something and he says whether it’s Huggable material or not. He seems to have an impeccable taste on Huggables. Usually his favourites are Robots, Aliens and Hedgehogs. I am drawing a Retro Crocodile right now, can’t wait to hear his ruling on that one…

P.S. I have added more pouches to Retrobug Shop. Some hearts, dots and buttons to start with, some floral and geometric retro prints are coming up soon.

I finally got to photograph a pile of pouches that I have made. I wanted to make a bigger pouch with a wide bottom to fit more stuff in there. These ones are good for make up or as pen bags etc and are about 20cm x 17cm. I will add a bunch of them to the Retrobug Shop soon, but here are few examples.

The green pouch with hearts used to be a retro apron. I found it in a flee market sometime ago. I would love to have a bit more of this fabric, because it would make such a cool summer skirt for me. I can just see it in my mind, the green grass, the blue sky, sunshine and me, with a wide, green, frilled skirt full of hearts. Jub jub. I have to find some more of this one…

I got a new pile of amazing retro fabrics here few days ago. I just love all these colourful fabrics and prints. I can see them as dresses, jackets, overalls or maybe trousers. Or maybe bags or pouches. I have added them in the Retrobug Shop fabrics available section, so go and have a look!

The Retrobug Shop has gone through a big change last few weeks. Lot of new products are now available there and more stuff is coming up every day. It is now easier to order customised products, as I have linked all available fabrics to the products. So, if you are interested in dresses, you can see different types of dresses in Dresses section and choose a fabric of your choice from the link next to it. Easy peasy!

Thank you!

I got this award from Made by Ka and Siksaksis blogs, which are both really inspiring blogs with full of beautiful handicrafts, thank you so much! And thank you to all of the visitors in my blog, it is truly a pleasure to read all your comments, so please leave a note when you drop by.

I am supposed to forward this award to seven Beautiful and enjoyable blogs, which is definitely a hard job, since there are so many interesting and cool blogs out there. I would love to forward this to everyone of them. However, since lot of my favorites already got this award, I will mention a few that I regularly visit. Definitely worth visiting, so go and check them out! :)

I made a bunny jacket for my son a long time ago but now it was finally warm enough to wear it outside. Jubii, the Spring is truly here! Onni loves this bunny fabric but he was slightly confused since he has a duvet cover out of the same fabric. Poor thing thought his mom is dressing him up in a duvet.

He had grown a lot since I made the jacket. Good thing about this pattern is, that you can wear it for a long time. It is a nice A shape pattern with long sleeves that can be rolled up in the beginning and has plenty of room to grow into. Perfect for fast growing toddlers. He looked just like a little elf in his pointy hat and his bunny jacket. Cute cute!!

I wanted to make some elephant appliqued bibs today so I drew some sketches and chose the one that I liked the best. I started cutting and choosing the right combos for the bibs and went on sewing. I sewed some buttons as eyes and added press buttons. So, there I am, happy about a pile of elephant bibs when I figured out there was something slightly funny about them. I wasn’t quite sure what it was, but something looked weird in them until it hit me. They have no tails. Oh my.. Somehow they look to me like someone had cut off their little pointy tails. Well, instead of adding a tail I think I will leave them like this. After all, they do look kinda happy the way they are, tailless and all..

These happy tailless elephants and some friends of them have moved to Retrobug Shop so go and have a look!

The spring is definitely lifting up the spirit here. The sun is shining and although I can barely see through the dirty windows, it is definitely wonderful sight after the winter. I have already started planning this coming Summer and I have lots of new ideas what to sew.

Lot of friends are having babies this Summer and I cannot wait to see all those little ones. So, last few days I have been thinking about babies while making a pile of bibs for the Retrobug shop. These are definitely some of my favourites..

Sunshine and Spring wishes to you all today!

Exciting!

It has been an exciting weekend. First of all, a volcano erupted here in Iceland last night and we have been following news and footage about it all day long. It is exciting to witness the powers of nature in such a scale. Fortunately it seems this eruption is fairly steady and won’t cause too much danger to people around the area.

Second, a bit less eruptive news, is that I have worked all weekend fixing the new look of my pages. And it is finally ready! I am so glad to see it ready and look forward of hearing what you think about it. My shop has also moved to another address and has gotten a new name: Retrobug Shop. You can find it here now as well as from the sidebar of the blog. I am still adding stuff in the shop, but it should be all ready in a few days. Do have a peak!

Here’s a pile of brand new Retrobug tags waiting to be sewn into bunch of cool stuff…

Since the spring is on its way, I decided to get some colour for my regular black and white style. After having nasty bronchitis few weeks back, I needed something to keep me warm but all my scarves are way too warm these days. So, this is what I came up. Some colourful retro fabric, some soft fleece, few press buttons and tadaaa!!! Retro Neckwarmer. I love it. It is warm and soft and gives a nice splash of colour to my wardrobe. What do you think? Would you wear it?

p.s. I am doing a spring cleaning in the p.s.shop, so it will not be up and running for few days. If you have some requests or questions, please contact me by email: ps@psrecycled.com

New spring stuff is coming up soon!!!

RoboPouch

Today I felt like building a Robot. That kind of handy little fellow, that would clean the house and do the dishes and prepare food. You know, all those things that you don’t have time to do. Unfortunately I am not much of an engineer, so I had to settle for this little RoboPouch. It is very handy to tuck your iPod or phone into. Or what ever you feel like. It is padded to give support and has velcro to close it. You can tie the arms and carry it like a small bag. And look at that grumpy Roboface… Hihih. I like this fellow.
