Some Bunnies

Last few days I have been busy with some Bunnies. Yellow bunnies, green bunnies, heart bunnies, flower bunnies and so on. Some have bells in the tummy and some are just soft to cuddle with. There are bunnies for everyone’s liking. Some of them will find their way to the Retrobug Shop and some already have little owners waiting for them. Some Bunnies indeed.

Ok. Now I am done. No more crocheted clothes for the little man.

I just had to make this hooded vest because of the lovely yarn I found. I knew immediately that these colours would be perfect in stripes. Stripes, stripes, stripes. I keep on making stripy things no matter what.

Once again I had no instructions for this vest, I crocheted the pieces with approximate measurements from another vest and improvised the rest. A press button in the front and it is ready! Onni was not in a modeling mood, so action photos will have to wait, but he did wear it successfully for a half an hour or so. In our scale, that is a success. ;)

Hug a Bunny

This little bunny is made for a little boy who might like a soft Huggable friend. She is made out of retro pillow case and some leftover bits and pieces. This very heartfelt, gentle bunny is perfect to cuddle with when going to bed and soft to use even as a pillow. My son likes to do that a lot with his little Ouch bunny :)

Most of all, this bunny gal has the softest hug around. After all she is a Huggable and designed to hug little ones. Go ahead, give it a try. She won’t mind. It might just make you smile.

Hugs,

Since I started crocheting a while ago, I have been hooked. It’s so nice and relaxing and you can crochet the night away without waking up the whole house. So, after two hoodies for my son, I was wondering what to make. I mean the hoodies are cute, but how many crocheted hoodies does a little boy need? Not more than two, I say.

It is a bit difficult to come up with cool ideas to crochet for a little boy, especially for a beginner like myself. So, I decided to experiment with the yarn and try to make a pointy hat for him. Something handy for the spring, which is not too hot yet still covers the ears. So, this is what I came up with. Brown and white stripes and straps to tie it up. Pretty ok for a test run. I know now what to do differently next time. But that’s the fun of making stuff without instructions. You try it out and see what happens. And unravel it a lot. :D

Have a creative and experimental week everyone!

These trousers are made for a little boy, who happens to be a grandson of a good friend of mine. My son was very impressed when he saw these trousers in making. He loves trains and cars and all kinds of moving vehicles and was tsuuuu tsuuuing away with these pockets. Quite adorable. :)

I like kiddo jeans like this with colourful pockets or appliques and ribs.  I have made jeans like this to my son in all colours. Teachers in his kindergarten told me they love his clothes since they are always so colourful and comfy and most of all easy to dress up. I think comfortable fit is the most important thing in kid’s clothes, you can never be too comfy! ;)

My best friend

My son has this cute girl as a friend in the kindergarten with whom he plays a lot. She sits next to him when they eat and do arts and crafts. She told her mom that Onni is her best friend. It’s so cute when two years old are making friends. :) So, I decided to try and make a little doll for Onni, so he has a little friend at home too. She turned out quite cute, with brown hair and bright blue eyes.  Onni gave her a big cuddle straight from the sewing machine. I think they will become good friends.

So, now it’s time to have some of those chocolate eggs and enjoy the holiday season. I hope you all are having yummy yummy chocolate tasting weekend!

HAPPY EASTER!!
