May 2010

I have been busy busy with preparations for the Summer Market in Lappeenranta. So busy that blogging has been a bit slow, sorry about that. But now I have a huge pile of Retrobug trousers, jeans, skirts and dresses, not to mention Huggables and all kind of accessories and I am looking forward to the weekend. Look at these wheels where Huggables are driving to the Market. How retro are they! These ones and many more you can also find at the Lappeenranta Summer Market this weekend.

See you there,

This skirt was a birthday present for Onni’s cousin who turned three years last week. She is such a little cutie and I think this combination of orange and pink will suit her nicely. Happy Birthday sweetie, hope you had a wonderful Birthday party. :)

We arrived to Finland few days ago and have been enjoying the sunshine every day. I do hope it will be sunny next weekend, when we go to Lappeenranta Summer Market. There will be skirts like this in different colours and sizes as well as lots of other colourful stuff there so if you are around, do come and check it out.

Sunshine for everyone,

I have been making some jeans shorts for Onni for the Summer. I think thin jeans trousers and shorts are the best for him, because he loves to sit on the sandbox and crawl around in the garden, so jeans is nice and firm material for his trousers. I also found a pair of trousers I had made for him a while ago. They were too short for him, but worked great as shorts. That is the great thing about these trousers, they last a long time. First as trousers, later as shorts. I made back pockets as a finishing touch. I mean, jeans are no jeans without back pockets, right? ;)

We are off to a holiday tomorrow. I just can’t wait!

Have a great weekend everyone,

I found myself being a hat factory and making a pile of Summer hats with Hedgehogs and Bunnies. The hats are made of jersey and terry and are nice and thin for the cool Summer evenings. They are all lined with colourful jerseys and can be used as reversible hats. Cute cute.

My son has grown out of all his Summer clothes and since we are going for a holiday in sunny Finland, it was time to make some new ones. Onni loves to climb and crawl and jump around so I always make wide, comfy trousers for him. This 3/4 length pair is made of his dad’s old pair of summer trousers. I used the double layered parts for the bum, so it’s comfy to sit on the sand box. ;)  I made back pockets and double stitched them with bright orange thread to give a bit of colour. I added some retro fabric pockets in the front and a rib on the waist. Done! Perfect for the little man.

Look at this little lady. She is a true miss Monkey Business. She has big ears that she likes to flip around and long lashes that she loves to flap. All and all, a true Monkey Lady. I just love her. Love.

Love,

I have been busy busy busy last few days. We are going for a holiday to Finland next week so I have been making everything ready for three weeks of break. I am so looking forward to it! I also got a chance to go to the Summer market in Lappeenranta at the end of May, which is going to be great. I will take a bunch of Retrobug stuff there, so if you live nearby, do come and drop by. :)

Here are some of the dresses I have been making. I just love to make Summer dresses. All retro fabrics just look amazing in those little dresses. Nothing better to put you in a holiday mood.

Summery thoughts to you all,

What a busy last week it has been! We have been fixing our living room by painting one of the walls, hanging pictures and refurbishing the sofa. It is slowly coming together, so I have managed to finish some unfinished sewings. I have a pile of reversible hats in making right now. They are all made of jersey or cotton knit, so they are perfect for the Spring and Summer. This one has a car jersey on one side and orange knit on the other side with a Hedgehog applique.

p.s. I have also another kind of hats and beanies in making for a bit older kids and for adults. But more of that in the next few days.

So, stay tuned,

This little RoboMister likes to keep people’s phones and iPods warm and safe. He likes to get a grip of a bag or a hook with his RoboHook hand and hang there endlessly. He is working hard to be a tough little Robot, like all little Robots ought to be. Sometimes he finds it a bit difficult as his belly is nice and soft. But that’s why we like him. He is on his way to a new Robot loving family. Hope they get along well. ;)

It is time to close the Spring Giveaway. Thank you all for entering the Giveaway!  I have read all your comments and suggestions with joy and will definitely follow up some ideas  you came up with. So, thank you, thank you! We must do this again soon ;)

So, time to announce the winner. I used the Random Number Generator and counted that there were all and all 63 tickets to be drawn. So, the generator did its random job and the winner is…

NIINU

And since this is so much fun, I decided to draw TWO more numbers and give them each one Brooch from the Retrobug Shop.

And the Brooches go to:   ELINA and ANAMA

CONGRATS EVERYONE!
