I made this pink velor hat to match that pink jacket I made before. There were only small pieces of the pink fabric left, so I made a flower applique from the scraps to fit the look. The lining is pink jersey so the hat is perfect for chilly Autumn days.
I saw this fabric and could not resist, I just had to buy a piece of it. I try to use as much recycled materials as possible, but sometimes I come across something too cute to resist. This is one of those. ;) I did not know what to make out of this fabric but those little crocodiles and lions were so adorable that I ended up making a jacket out of it. Unfortunately I had bought a tad bit too small a piece of fabric, so I needed to do some fiddling but with a piece of green cotton it was just enough. I also lined the jacket with green recycled cotton and added green ribbing in the hood.
This one is a bit off season right now, but I am hoping it will still fit Onni next Spring. Crossing my fingers! And now it is time for me to get back to Autumn clothes. It is starting to be quite chilly in the mornings and I think the little man has grown a lot this Summer. I think I need some warm clothes myself. Few days of chilly weather and I can already feel it in my throat. Maybe I should focus on making scarves for the whole family. :D

This pink Tampella fabric is an old find that I rediscovered from the depths of my fabric stocks. It is so sweet pink that I never knew what to make out of it. Well, now I did. A little girl saw it and wanted a pink pink jacket out of it. This is how it turned out.
The jacket has a white lining with bit of padding so it is warm enough for cold Autumn days. The sleeves are long so they can be folded to correct length. The large buttons in the front are covered with the same fabric to finalize the look. Pretty in pink, indeed. ;)
This hoodie for Onni is made out of recycled jersey bits I had in my stocks. I wanted to make a lined jersey hoodie for Onni for those cool Autumn days at the kindergarten. I love the quality of this used Nanso jersey nightie. The material feels as good as new and is so soft to wear. Besides, this yellow colour was just too bright and lovely to pass. The pocket in front is made of small car shirt that didn’t fit Onni anymore. I lined the hoodie with thin white jersey and added green ribbing to match the car fabric. I think it turned out quite cute. A bit of sunshine to the grey Autumn days :)
I think Summer is the time of the year when all kids suddenly grow out of their clothes leaving parents desperately trying to find something to wear for those first days in Kindergarten or at school in Autumn. I have been focusing on making more trousers and shirts for Onni, as the sleeves and legs of all his old clothes have gotten inevitably short. This shirt is made of green and white stripy terry with yellow ribbing. An old friend, a lion, got to decorate the front of the shirt. Onni fell in love with this lion when I made a shirt with it to a little friend of ours for his two year birthday. Now finally Onni has a shirt of his own with this fellow. He is yet to be named, but Onni has been thinking about few possibilities already.. ;)

…at least in this family. I was gathering up fabrics for Onni’s Autumn clothing and they seem to be very green this year. I must have a green period nowadays or then there are just so many adorable green fabrics that I cannot resist ;)
I found this lovely green corduroy on our holiday in Finland and I just had to buy a piece of it. It reminds me of forests and moss and the smell of rain in Autumn. I ended up using it for corduroy trousers for Onni. This time I put an elastic in the waist and on the ankles. I wanted to keep the trousers quite simple but added pockets at the sides for some detail. Turquoise buttons brighten up the trousers nicely.
Overalls would have been also so cute out of this fabric, but since Onni has just learned to go to the potty himself, trousers are easier to use. Emmi from Hippu blog made overalls out of this fabric, and they are so adorable. Go and check out her blog, it’s full of cool stuff!
