This dark pink set is a present for a birthday lady. A large pouch got a strap so it can be used as a small handbag as well. The brooch fits nicely to the pouch and it can be used on its own as an accessory too. A matching cup carrier finalizes the set. The strap closes with a button so it is easy to use and it fits nicely even a large take away cup. I would like to see this set in action :)

This little RoboMister likes to keep people’s phones and iPods warm and safe. He likes to get a grip of a bag or a hook with his RoboHook hand and hang there endlessly. He is working hard to be a tough little Robot, like all little Robots ought to be. Sometimes he finds it a bit difficult as his belly is nice and soft. But that’s why we like him. He is on his way to a new Robot loving family. Hope they get along well. ;)
It is time to close the Spring Giveaway. Thank you all for entering the Giveaway! I have read all your comments and suggestions with joy and will definitely follow up some ideas you came up with. So, thank you, thank you! We must do this again soon ;)
So, time to announce the winner. I used the Random Number Generator and counted that there were all and all 63 tickets to be drawn. So, the generator did its random job and the winner is…

NIINU
And since this is so much fun, I decided to draw TWO more numbers and give them each one Brooch from the Retrobug Shop.
And the Brooches go to: ELINA and ANAMA

CONGRATS EVERYONE!

It is First day of Summer here in Iceland today. So, for the occasion, I gathered up a bouquet of flowers. Well, I actually sewed these flowers since there aren’t that many flowers to be gathered outside. First day of Summer is a national holiday when people say goodbye to Winter. The weather man seems to be the only one thinking it is not quite yet Summer. So, as a compromise, I will call them Spring flowers. I mean, it can be freezing in Spring, right, right?
These Spring flowers are also brooches, as you probably guessed already. They have a small pin at the back so you can attach them to your clothes or bags. I covered some buttons with vintage fabrics and added them in the front of each flower. Easy and definitely a retro addition to one’s wardrobe! These flowers will find their way to the Retrobug Shop so go and have a peak.
Now, how would you like to make some Spring Flower brooches yourself?
Since they are easy to make, take very little material and are a great way to use your leftover fabrics, I decided to share the fun and make a Spring Flower Brooch Tutorial for you all! So, stay tuned for some do-it-yourself fun fun fun!
And do remember to take part in the Spring Giveaway!!

It has been interesting last few days because of the volcano here in Iceland has been sending ashy greetings to everyone in Europe and lately to Northern America too. We have been lucky here in the capital area by avoiding most of the ash cloud as it has flown away from here. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the huffing and puffing volcano would calm down and we all get our friends and family home as soon as possible!

THE GIVEAWAY CLOSES 1.5.2010
My son got an annoying case of eye infection, so we are hanging out home together planning some cute Huggables. He is my best adviser when it comes to Huggables. I draw something and he says whether it’s Huggable material or not. He seems to have an impeccable taste on Huggables. Usually his favourites are Robots, Aliens and Hedgehogs. I am drawing a Retro Crocodile right now, can’t wait to hear his ruling on that one…

P.S. I have added more pouches to Retrobug Shop. Some hearts, dots and buttons to start with, some floral and geometric retro prints are coming up soon.
I finally got to photograph a pile of pouches that I have made. I wanted to make a bigger pouch with a wide bottom to fit more stuff in there. These ones are good for make up or as pen bags etc and are about 20cm x 17cm. I will add a bunch of them to the Retrobug Shop soon, but here are few examples.
The green pouch with hearts used to be a retro apron. I found it in a flee market sometime ago. I would love to have a bit more of this fabric, because it would make such a cool summer skirt for me. I can just see it in my mind, the green grass, the blue sky, sunshine and me, with a wide, green, frilled skirt full of hearts. Jub jub. I have to find some more of this one…

I wanted to make some elephant appliqued bibs today so I drew some sketches and chose the one that I liked the best. I started cutting and choosing the right combos for the bibs and went on sewing. I sewed some buttons as eyes and added press buttons. So, there I am, happy about a pile of elephant bibs when I figured out there was something slightly funny about them. I wasn’t quite sure what it was, but something looked weird in them until it hit me. They have no tails. Oh my.. Somehow they look to me like someone had cut off their little pointy tails. Well, instead of adding a tail I think I will leave them like this. After all, they do look kinda happy the way they are, tailless and all..
These happy tailless elephants and some friends of them have moved to Retrobug Shop so go and have a look!

The spring is definitely lifting up the spirit here. The sun is shining and although I can barely see through the dirty windows, it is definitely wonderful sight after the winter. I have already started planning this coming Summer and I have lots of new ideas what to sew.
Lot of friends are having babies this Summer and I cannot wait to see all those little ones. So, last few days I have been thinking about babies while making a pile of bibs for the Retrobug shop. These are definitely some of my favourites..
Sunshine and Spring wishes to you all today!

Since the spring is on its way, I decided to get some colour for my regular black and white style. After having nasty bronchitis few weeks back, I needed something to keep me warm but all my scarves are way too warm these days. So, this is what I came up. Some colourful retro fabric, some soft fleece, few press buttons and tadaaa!!! Retro Neckwarmer. I love it. It is warm and soft and gives a nice splash of colour to my wardrobe. What do you think? Would you wear it?
p.s. I am doing a spring cleaning in the p.s.shop, so it will not be up and running for few days. If you have some requests or questions, please contact me by email: ps@psrecycled.com
New spring stuff is coming up soon!!!
