I have been busy busy busy last few days. We are going for a holiday to Finland next week so I have been making everything ready for three weeks of break. I am so looking forward to it! I also got a chance to go to the Summer market in Lappeenranta at the end of May, which is going to be great. I will take a bunch of Retrobug stuff there, so if you live nearby, do come and drop by. :)

Here are some of the dresses I have been making. I just love to make Summer dresses. All retro fabrics just look amazing in those little dresses. Nothing better to put you in a holiday mood.

Summery thoughts to you all,

I just love this hedgehog fabric I found in a flee market a while ago. The hedgehogs look so cute and curious, peaking between apples and pears. I wasn’t sure what to make out of it but at the end I ended up making this wrap dress in size 68cm. Fortunately I still have some of this fabric left. I think these hedgehogs would be so cute in a jacket, don’t you agree? The dress will be available in the Retrobug Shop.

p.s. It has been cool to see pictures of the brooches you have made.  If you haven’t tried the Flower Brooch Tutorial yet, you can find it here!

p.p.s The Spring Giveaway will close tomorrow at noon, Icelandic time. So,  if you haven’t taken part yet, go and leave a comment. The winner will be announced tomorrow!

Have a great weekend,

The spring is coming, I can tell. I feel like making springy clothes. Dresses and light colourful jackets. Yes, the spring is coming…

This dotted bunny dress is for a little girl who loves these bunnies. She has one bunny dress already and she just loves to look at those cute long eared friends. I ended up making this one out of recycled polkadot fabric and applique few bunnies into it. The lining inside is white recycled cotton.

Like cats and mice

I have lot of fabrics that are to my opinion absolutely adorable, but I just cannot make up my mind what to do with them. This red and blue cat and mice fabric is one of them. I always felt that it would make an amazing jacket or maybe overalls because the cats are so large. Well, the problem was solved when I got a request to make a dress of it. It turned out great! I like the way the fabric comes out in it. Especially those little mice peaking in the corners. So cute. I still have bunch of this fabric left. Maybe I’ll make those overalls. Or the jacket…

Bunch of dresses

I had totally forgotten this pile of dresses I made before Christmas. Yesterday I was organising my fabrics and came across with them. What a lovely surprise. I think most of the colourful retro fabrics look at their best in a simple dress without too many details. The prints come out nice and they look so cute on those little girls. The first two are size 98cm and the other ones are size 92cm. You can found them in the shop.

The shop has opened again after the break with some new clothes and pouches. More is coming every day, so go and check it out!

This tasty tunic dress full of strawberries was a Christmas present for a cute little two year old girl. The strawberry fabric used to be a small curtain and was just enough to make this outfit. In the winter the tunic dress fits nicely with long sleeve shirt and tight trousers and in summertime it’s perfect on its own. From the leftovers I cut a small flower, which I appliqued to a velor hat. Nice detail to brighten up the dark winter.

Moomins are the best. At least if you ask my son. He loves the Moomins and wants to play with his Moomin cards and toys all day long. His little cousin is also a huge Moomin fan, so she got this cute Snork Maiden velor dress for Christmas. Naturally I had to make a matching hat with little My hiding up there. Snork Maiden and Little My are cut from an old Moomin duvet cover and appliqued to the velor. Lining is yellow orange soft cotton from a vintage sheet. Hope she was pleased with the Santa this year ;)

Friends of ours got a daughter few weeks ago and we went to see their little girl today. Oh my, she is so cute and small and absolutely adorable. She made me want to have a baby again. Well, maybe few years from now.. ;)

I made a small dress for the little one with a matching bib. The dress is made of retro curtain and the the bib is yellow jersey in front and vintage duvet cover at the back. Since she is their first baby and a true baby number one, I appliqued number 1 in the bib with matching colours. Cute set for a cute girl.

It seems I am not the only one liking the bunny fabric. Lot of people are asking about the bunny dresses. So, here are some more of them in bit bigger sizes 80 / 86cm. The green bunny fabric is running out fast, so this will be the last green bunny dress for a while. Some small stuff will come later on. So, if you want one, be quick and visit p.s.shop!

I also finished one little dress. I have gotten lot of requests to make more bunny dresses so here is one small one in size 62 cm.

These bunnies have jumped to the p.s.shop.
