Look at this little lady. She is a true miss Monkey Business. She has big ears that she likes to flip around and long lashes that she loves to flap. All and all, a true Monkey Lady. I just love her. Love.

Love,

Some Bunnies

Last few days I have been busy with some Bunnies. Yellow bunnies, green bunnies, heart bunnies, flower bunnies and so on. Some have bells in the tummy and some are just soft to cuddle with. There are bunnies for everyone’s liking. Some of them will find their way to the Retrobug Shop and some already have little owners waiting for them. Some Bunnies indeed.

Hug a Bunny

This little bunny is made for a little boy who might like a soft Huggable friend. She is made out of retro pillow case and some leftover bits and pieces. This very heartfelt, gentle bunny is perfect to cuddle with when going to bed and soft to use even as a pillow. My son likes to do that a lot with his little Ouch bunny :)

Most of all, this bunny gal has the softest hug around. After all she is a Huggable and designed to hug little ones. Go ahead, give it a try. She won’t mind. It might just make you smile.

Hugs,

My best friend

My son has this cute girl as a friend in the kindergarten with whom he plays a lot. She sits next to him when they eat and do arts and crafts. She told her mom that Onni is her best friend. It’s so cute when two years old are making friends. :) So, I decided to try and make a little doll for Onni, so he has a little friend at home too. She turned out quite cute, with brown hair and bright blue eyes.  Onni gave her a big cuddle straight from the sewing machine. I think they will become good friends.

So, now it’s time to have some of those chocolate eggs and enjoy the holiday season. I hope you all are having yummy yummy chocolate tasting weekend!

HAPPY EASTER!!

My son got an annoying case of eye infection, so we are hanging out home together planning some cute Huggables. He is my best adviser when it comes to Huggables. I draw something and he says whether it’s Huggable material or not. He seems to have an impeccable taste on Huggables. Usually his favourites are Robots, Aliens and Hedgehogs. I am drawing a Retro Crocodile right now, can’t wait to hear his ruling on that one…

P.S. I have added more pouches to Retrobug Shop. Some hearts, dots and buttons to start with, some floral and geometric retro prints are coming up soon.

My little baby boy turns two years today! It feels like yesterday when he was born and now he is already such a big boy. He grows so fast that sometimes I just want to stop the time and keep him as mommy’s little boy a bit longer. He started kindergarden this week and the transition has been a bit difficult. More for me than for him, I think. Today, when he came home from the kindergarden, there was a surprise waiting for him. And what a nice surprise it was! This long legged friend of his came a long way to wish him happy birthday..

Edit. I forgot to mention the size of this long legged friend of ours. He is fairly tall fellow, almost 70cm long. Here’s another picture of him that shows his size a bit better. Perfect to cuddle with.

Hug Me Bunny!

This little bunny is called miss Hearts. She is a true softie, this girl. Her favorite pastime is to give people big cuddly hugs and to be cute. She went to wish merry Christmas to a little cute girl and I hope they have great time together this coming year. With this cuddly thought, I want to wish you all a wonderful and very Huggable New Year 2010. :)

Huggable Holidays

I have finally started my Christmas holiday, which means no sewing for few days. It is going to be difficult to stay away from the sewing machine, since as soon as I started my holiday, I have gotten lots of ideas what to make. Well, I have been sketching lots and I think this holiday will do me good after a busy busy autumn.  So, alongside these three little Huggables, I want to wish you all happy holidays and a wonderful and creative Christmas time.

A friend asked me to sew a set for her one year old son for the Christmas. She wanted blue velor trousers with orange pockets and a matching shirt for that. So, I made a orange hoodie with a little hedgehog in front. The hood is lined with stripy jersey. I think the outfit turned out really cute. The colours are just amazing together, I think I have to make something similar for my son. Cute cute!

I also made a small HugBuddy pillow for the little boy. He was so cute the other day hugging my son’s Huggables. I felt he definitely should have one for himself. :)

This boy is nothing like miss Stubborn. He is quite relaxed kind of Hedgehog, with big bunch of soft spikes that point out everywhere. Hence the name Mr Spiky.

When Mr Spiky and Miss Stubborn met each others, it was love at first sight. They spend all their time sitting together, stroking each others spikes and looking cute. That’s hedgehog love. Too bad they have to be separated soon, as Mr Spiky has found a new home. He will be flying to Finland any day now. Poor Miss Stubborn. I have a feeling that I have to start making a new friend for her as soon as possible.
