I found myself being a hat factory and making a pile of Summer hats with Hedgehogs and Bunnies. The hats are made of jersey and terry and are nice and thin for the cool Summer evenings. They are all lined with colourful jerseys and can be used as reversible hats. Cute cute.

My son has grown out of all his Summer clothes and since we are going for a holiday in sunny Finland, it was time to make some new ones. Onni loves to climb and crawl and jump around so I always make wide, comfy trousers for him. This 3/4 length pair is made of his dad’s old pair of summer trousers. I used the double layered parts for the bum, so it’s comfy to sit on the sand box. ;)  I made back pockets and double stitched them with bright orange thread to give a bit of colour. I added some retro fabric pockets in the front and a rib on the waist. Done! Perfect for the little man.

Look at this little lady. She is a true miss Monkey Business. She has big ears that she likes to flip around and long lashes that she loves to flap. All and all, a true Monkey Lady. I just love her. Love.

Love,

I have been busy busy busy last few days. We are going for a holiday to Finland next week so I have been making everything ready for three weeks of break. I am so looking forward to it! I also got a chance to go to the Summer market in Lappeenranta at the end of May, which is going to be great. I will take a bunch of Retrobug stuff there, so if you live nearby, do come and drop by. :)

Here are some of the dresses I have been making. I just love to make Summer dresses. All retro fabrics just look amazing in those little dresses. Nothing better to put you in a holiday mood.

Summery thoughts to you all,

This little RoboMister likes to keep people’s phones and iPods warm and safe. He likes to get a grip of a bag or a hook with his RoboHook hand and hang there endlessly. He is working hard to be a tough little Robot, like all little Robots ought to be. Sometimes he finds it a bit difficult as his belly is nice and soft. But that’s why we like him. He is on his way to a new Robot loving family. Hope they get along well. ;)

I just love this hedgehog fabric I found in a flee market a while ago. The hedgehogs look so cute and curious, peaking between apples and pears. I wasn’t sure what to make out of it but at the end I ended up making this wrap dress in size 68cm. Fortunately I still have some of this fabric left. I think these hedgehogs would be so cute in a jacket, don’t you agree? The dress will be available in the Retrobug Shop.

p.s. It has been cool to see pictures of the brooches you have made.  If you haven’t tried the Flower Brooch Tutorial yet, you can find it here!

p.p.s The Spring Giveaway will close tomorrow at noon, Icelandic time. So,  if you haven’t taken part yet, go and leave a comment. The winner will be announced tomorrow!

Have a great weekend,

Here is another one of Retrobug Laptop Sleeves. This one is made of a retro curtain with cute Circus theme. Zebras, elephants and lions decorate this cutely compact laptop sleeve, which is only about 30cmx 24cm in size. Definitely a cool bag to show up at work with.  Hope the lady likes it. ;)

p.s. If you want Retrobug Laptop Sleeve for yourself, check out the Retrobug Shop HERE and choose the  fabric of your choice. Retrobug Laptop Sleeves are made in various sizes to fit your laptop nicely!  :)

It’s always great to hear that people like the stuff I have made for them. I am also grateful of all feedback, so please feel free to leave a comment or send me email if you have any suggestions or feedback.

It always makes me smile to see pictures of little Retrobugs in action. I got this picture of a cute, little boy, whose mom was one of the lucky ones to win a Retrobug Hat in my giveaway last year. They have hedgehogs amongst others as pets, imagine that, so it was very fitting that she won the hedgehog hat for her son. What a cutie he is! And look at that furry bunny. Wow!

p.s. I would love to see more pictures of Retrobugs in action. If you have any pictures of the stuff I’ve made and you don’t mind sharing them here in the blog, please send me a copy in ps@psrecycled.com. :)

p.p.s. The Spring Flower Tutorial is on its way, coming up soon!

Have a great week everyone,

It is First day of Summer here in Iceland today. So, for the occasion, I gathered up a bouquet of flowers. Well, I actually sewed these flowers since there aren’t that many flowers to be gathered outside. First day of Summer is a national holiday when people say goodbye to Winter. The weather man seems to be the only one thinking it is not quite yet Summer. So, as a compromise, I will call them Spring flowers. I mean, it can be freezing in Spring, right, right?

These Spring flowers are also brooches, as you probably guessed already. They have a small pin at the back so you can attach them to your clothes or bags. I covered some buttons with vintage fabrics and added them in the front of each flower. Easy and definitely a retro addition to one’s wardrobe! These flowers will find their way to the Retrobug Shop so go and have a peak.

Now, how would you like to make some Spring Flower brooches yourself?

Since they are easy to make, take very little material and are a great way to use your leftover fabrics, I decided to share the fun and make a Spring Flower Brooch Tutorial for you all! So, stay tuned for some do-it-yourself fun fun fun!

And do remember to take part in the Spring Giveaway!!

This shirt is a quick one from today after going through my fabric left overs. I combined stripy brown jersey knit with yellow one and appliqued a giraffe in front. (or so it was supposed to be) The giraffe is made of brown and white hippo fabric and few buttons. The legs and tail is zigzag stitched on the fabric. This long necked fellow sure looks a bit wobbly with such a skinny legs but let’s just blame it on artistic freedom. ;) The shirt is size 98cm and will go to the Retrobug Shop. So, check it out!
